Jaime Webb Voice Faculty

Jaime Marie Webb, lyric coloratura soprano, recently graduated with her Masters in Music where she served as the Resident Artist Soprano for the University of Georgia Opera Theatre and was a recipient of the Dr. Carl and Patricia S. Hoveland Fellowship in Opera. Webb made her debut with the department as Norina in Don Pasquale under the baton of Maestro Hilary Griffiths and was featured in UGA’s Bel Canto Gala, where Webb performed concert excerpts as Adina in L’elisir d’amore and other Donizetti scenes. In her second season for the university she had the honor of performing the titular role in Lucia di Lammermoor in a costumed, concert production performed in collaboration with the University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra and Hugh Hodgson Singers. Her final major role with the department was the role of Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia under the direction of Nic Muni. In the summer of 2019, Ms. Webb performed as a Young Artist at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival where she sang the role of Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen.

A soloist in chamber works, Webb has been featured in both Athens Chamber Music Festival Finale concerts. Passionate about sharing her knowledge with the community, Webb has honed her teaching methods to create a space of welcome and safety while empowering student voices and leadership. Most recently, Webb served as a co-director for the University of Georgia Opera Scenes productions and was a Vocal Instructor for the Athens Community Music School where she taught non-majors for academic credit. Here, she has refined her ability to teach a variety of genres, emphasizing healthy technique within all styles. As the Vocal Teaching Artist for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and as the Lead Music Teacher for Creative Alliance, Webb honed her teaching methods to reflect the power of using music as an agent of change. Webb’s vocal instruction has an emphasis on the creative and critical pedagogical methods as she works to nurture student agency, reflection, and critical thinking. Webb is thrilled to share her skills and expertise with Sing Omaha Studios!
